Under the aegis of the ongoing "Good Governance Week" a workshop with the theme "Prashashan Gaon Ki Aor" was organized today at 11:30 am at the New Town Hall Dhanbad. The meeting was organized under the chairmanship of DC Dhanbad and saw participation from the District Rural Development Authority, Police Department, and other line departments, along with public representatives and NGOs. Dr. Aparna Krishna (Ass. Professor IIT ISM Dhanbad) was the guest speaker at the event. A wide range of topics were discussed in the meeting from Evolving framework of Development over the years, The best practices on public administration being followed in India and abroad, to personnel experiences from the officers including DC Dhanbad regarding the localization of schemes to ensure service delivery. The Pannel touched upon critical schemes being implemented in the district and stressed upon outcome-based planning, implementation and monitoring of the projects as a part of Vision Dhanbad @ 2047

An awareness program on child marriage and laws related to women was organized today in Jharia Vihar Colony, Belgadia in which more than 150 women, boys and girls of the colony participated. In this Ms. Divya Ashwani, Judicial Magistrate cum Civil Judge Dhanbad along with panel advocate Dnyaneshwar Giri and advocate Mithilesh Kumar Mishra told about various sections of law related to women. Residents of Jharia Vihar Colony and nearby villages participated in the program. Advocate Mr. Giri explained in detail about the laws related to women from childhood to old age, especially the POCSO Act. It was also emphasized that how a poor person can avail the services of law. Ms. Ashwini explained how a girl child can take advantage of the law to protect herself. She told the girls about the difference between affection, love and touch, suitable age for marriage, how to prevent child marriage if it is happening. Advocate Mr. Mishra told how the justice system can be easily accessed and the courts are working to implement the law in the state. The program was organized under the awareness program of Jharia Rehabilitation and Development Authority (JRDA) in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Dhanbad.

Coal Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Government of India Mr. Amrit Lal Meena, Deputy Commissioner Dhanbad Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Shashi Prakash Singh and officials of Jharia Rehabilitation and Development Authority (JRDA) were present at the site. Coal Secretary Amrit Lal Meena reached Belgaria Township on Saturday. He asked about the basic facilities available in Belgaria from the fire-affected areas of Jharia and the resettled outsees. The local people apprised the Coal Secretary about their problems and told that the most important problem was non-availability of means of employment, education and healthcare. Apart from this, due to not getting the ownership rights of the houses, their caste and residential certificates are not being made. He said that a proper way would be found after meeting on all issues.

On Saturday, Secretary, Ministry of Mines, Amrit Lal Meena saw the galloping life in various fire-affected areas of the district amidst the burning embers, as well as tried to know the problems faced by the local people in rehabilitation. During this, the Coal Secretary visited the underground mine at Munidih in Putki, the fire-affected areas of Bansjoda and Jharia and took suggestions from the people living there for their problems and their solutions. Talks have been held with the displaced people about why the people of the fire-affected area do not want to go to a safe place after being displaced. People's problems have been heard and suggestions have been taken from them. Along with Coal Secretary, Coal India Chairman Mr. Pramod Agarwal, Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman Jharia Rehabilitation and Development Authority (JRDA) Mr. Sandeep Singh, BCCL CMD Mr. Samiran Dutta, BCCL Director Technical, SDM Mr. Prem Kumar Tiwari and many other officials were present.
